Congresswoman Claudia Tenney (NY-24) announced that Niagara County received a grant through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for $1.15 million. The grant reimburses the County for extraordinary expenses incurred from the severe 2017 shoreline flooding in Krull Park.
“Following the devastating floods in 2017, Niagara County has taken steps to restore Krull Park and mitigate future flooding hazards. I am grateful that the federal government recognized the significance of the flood damage and the extraordinary financial burden the recovery effort has placed on our local governments. I appreciate FEMA’s efforts to help and will continue to work with local governments and our federal agencies to ensure our NY-24 communities have the resources they need and deserve,” said Congresswoman Claudia Tenney.
“This funding will ensure Niagara County residents will be able to enjoy Krull Park for years to come and is another step forward in protecting the successful tourism industry along Niagara County’s lakeshore," said Niagara County Legislator Shawn Foti. "Congresswoman Tenney has been a great ally to our shoreline communities like Newfane and I want to thank her and our federal partners for advocating for this funding.”
