Assemblyman Angelo Morinello, representing Niagara Falls, has been appointed as the Ranking Minority Member of the Assembly Standing Committee on Codes for the 2025 legislative session. He will also continue his roles on the Committees on Economic Development, Ethics and Guidance, Labor, Tourism, and Veterans' Affairs. These assignments place him in a significant position to influence policies affecting public safety, economic growth, government accountability, workforce development, tourism, and veterans' support in New York State.
In his new role on the Codes Committee, Morinello will be involved in reviewing and shaping legislation related to New York’s criminal justice system. The committee's responsibilities include oversight of laws concerning criminal procedure, sentencing guidelines, firearms regulations, and judicial discretion. Morinello aims to prioritize public safety by addressing issues such as bail reform and crime prevention while ensuring fair law enforcement policies.
“I am honored to serve as the Ranking Minority Member on the Codes Committee and to take part in these important discussions,” said Morinello. “New Yorkers deserve laws that balance public safety with justice, and I will work to ensure that our communities are protected and that our legal system operates effectively and fairly.”
