Congresswoman Claudia Tenney of New York's 24th district has announced her support for the passage of the Concurrent Resolution on the Budget for Fiscal Year 2025. The resolution, which was approved by a narrow margin of 217-215 in the House, sets the stage for budget reconciliation and aligns with President Trump's America First Agenda.

Tenney emphasized that this step is crucial for creating a fiscally responsible budget aimed at reducing excessive government spending. "House Republicans took the first step today toward delivering on our promise to the American people: to craft a fiscally responsible budget that reins in out-of-control spending and lowers costs for hardworking families," she stated. She highlighted concerns about national debt projections reaching $59 trillion by 2035 and stressed the importance of implementing at least $1.2 trillion in spending cuts.

The resolution also facilitates advancing key elements of former President Trump's policy agenda, including border security, reversing current energy policies, and enhancing national defense capabilities. A significant focus is placed on extending provisions from Trump's Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA), which are set to expire soon. Tenney warned that without action, taxpayers in her district could face substantial tax increases, and job losses could affect millions nationwide.

"By passing this resolution today," Tenney remarked, "we are moving a step closer to ensuring the Trump administration is able to implement the America First Agenda that Americans overwhelmingly voted for last November."
