Happy #thunderwolvesthursday ! This week, we are highlighting soon-to-be-graduate, Sonia Swann!
Sonia first graduated from NCCC's Baking and Pastry Arts program in 2000. She went on to have, a successful 20-year career in the baking industry. But, when COVID hit, she decided to change her career path.
Sonia returned to NCCC and spent her two years at NCCC trying to make the most of every moment. "I have learned so much more about myself than I thought possible. I have become this powerful and brave woman I never believed I could be," says Sonia.
Her involvement as a Student Life at NCCC orientation leader; Student Government Association; The National Society of Leadership and Success; Honors program; Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) Committee; and outstanding grades have been recognized by NCCC leadership as well as SUNY - The State University of New York. This year, Sonia was selected to join the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society's All State Academic Team. She is also the recipient of the SUNY Chancellor’s Award. She will graduate this May with a dual degree in Human Services and Psychology.
