New York's electric truck regulations have sparked concern over their impact on businesses and municipalities, according to Senate Republican Leader Rob Ortt. He expressed that the regulations are a "burdensome mandate passed without proper consideration of the impact on businesses and municipalities that lack the adequate infrastructure or resources to pay for them."

The recent delay announced by the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has been seen as beneficial for municipalities. However, Ortt is advocating for this delay to be extended to include the private sector. He emphasized the need for "a more practical, affordable solution" before these regulations take full effect.
