Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center (NFMMC) recently announced the addition of Dr. John L. DeBerry III to its surgical team. Dr. DeBerry, a seasoned urologist from Buffalo, joins the team from Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI). He specializes in general urology, urologic oncology, and minimally invasive surgery and is expected to enhance the quality of care for patients in the Niagara region.
Dr. DeBerry has over 30 years of experience in the field. He has previously served as the assistant director of urology at Buffalo General Hospital and as a clinical associate professor at the University at Buffalo. His work focuses on treating urinary tract infections, prostate cancer, and other complex urological issues.
In addition to his professional roles, Dr. DeBerry has received several recognitions, including the American Cancer Society’s Outstanding Clinician Award. He is also a recipient of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Outstanding Contribution to Community Award and the Black Achievers Award. He remains active in the American Urological Association and the National Medical Association.
Dr. DeBerry is board-certified by the American Board of Urology. He graduated from the University at Buffalo Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, where he also completed his surgical and urology residencies. He completed his fellowship in urologic oncology at RPCI.
